Worship Experience

Central Lutheran Church

What To Expect From Our Service

WHAT IS CENTRAL’S WORSHIP SERVICE LIKE?
We are currently offering one Bible study and one worship service every Sunday morning.

SUNDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY: 9:40AM
This study is open to everyone and consists of teaching the intricacies of the Bible and deepening our understanding of God’s Word.

TRADITIONAL DIVINE WORSHIP SERVICE: 10:40AM
This service offers a traditional liturgical setting. While hymns are the primary source for music, some contemporary songs are also used. The Sacrament of Holy Communion is offered each Sunday morning during our Divine service. See bulletin for details.

WHAT ABOUT CHILDREN?
While children are encouraged to attend services with their parents, we do have an assigned nursery, where parents can care for their younger children and still participate in the service.

WHAT DO PEOPLE TYPICALLY WEAR?
While there is no “dress code”, it is common for worshipers to wear “business casual” attire.

ARE GUESTS EXPECTED TO GIVE AN OFFERING?
While all financial gifts to the Lord are appreciated and accepted, we do not expect our guests to participate in giving an offering. We see that as the responsibility of the members to support the ministry of the church.

HOW LARGE IS CENTRAL?
While Central Lutheran is a large facility, it currently houses a smaller congregation. So, we are a church where “everyone can know your name!”

HOW DO PEOPLE BECOME MEMBERS?
Several times a year we offer a welcome “Membership” class at Central. This 15-week class covers the basic teachings of Christianity and the major doctrines of the Lutheran Church. Those who are already confirmed Lutherans can become members through “transfer” or “reaffirmation”, all others are received through “adult confirmation”. Please contact the church office if you are interested in participating in this opportunity.
