    “Seeing Salvation” Luke 2:22-35
God’s Word for this morning is a Scripture we have heard many times. It’s a seemingly uncomplicated story of a man who was patiently waiting for something to happen in life that was worth waiting for! But is that all there is to this historically recorded event? “The Big Day” Matthew 25:31-46
Two weeks ago, we learned about the parable of the five wise and five foolish virgins. Last Sunday we heard the parable of the talents. In this morning’s Gospel, we have the completion of this study with the parable of the sheep and the goats.

“How Do You See God?” Matthew 25:14-30
Our message last week was the parable of the wise and the foolish virgins, and in that teaching, Jesus used the setting of a wedding celebration to make His point that when He returns, some will be ready for that coming, and some will not be ready for that coming. Christ’s parable to us today on the Talents, and completing next week with the Parable Of The Sheep And The Goats, continues with the Lord’s instruction to His disciples on what will occur on the Last Day.

    “Expecting the Unexpected” Matthew 25:1-13
One of the central teachings of Holy Scripture is its emphasis on the temporariness of this life. That is also why it is so important for us to see the tremendous warning from Jesus found in His parable of the 10 virgins that is before us today, emphasizing the danger of being unprepared for His coming. “Giving God His Due” Matthew 22:15-22
What we have in God’s Word today, is yet another one of those situations where the enemies of Jesus are going after Him with words, to try to trick and deceive Him into saying something that could be used against Him. But what we will see, is that Jesus, in His wisdom, will turn their attempts to trick Him, into an opportunity to characterize something of extreme importance, the two realms under which we all live, the civil municipal realm, and the heavenly realm of God!

“What are YOU Wearing?” Matthew 22:1-14
In God’s Word this morning, we again find Jesus in the temple during holy week confronting the same group of Pharisees and church elders with another parable. And within today’s lesson, Jesus again reveals to these individuals that He is The Christ, the long-promised Messiah, and that because Israel has continually rejected those whom God has sent to them, the Kingdom of Heaven will be taken away.

    “Sparing No Expense” Matthew 21:33-44
Last week we found Jesus in the temple during Holy Week being confronted by the Pharisees and elders of the people challenging His authority. Today we find Jesus still in the temple, still facing the same group with the same warning: That rejecting the Will and Authority of God means only one thing: That His Kingdom will be taken away.

And if you know your Bible, you know that the temple leaders never had anything good to say to our Lord Christ!
